Becoming A Gifted Person
It is often easier to see what is wrong with us rather than discover where God is working and gifting us to grow creatively. This retreat will help us find the gifts where we may have found only hurt. It will empower us to trust and risk new gifts leading to a greater life.
Ignatius House Jesuit Retreat Center serves all for the greater glory of God and the more universal good. We offer to all, group and individually directed retreats, spiritual direction, companionship and spiritual counseling. Our ministry is based on Ignatian Spirituality and the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola; a journey in meditation, praying the scriptures and finding God in all things.
Opened in 1960 by the Jesuit Fathers and Brothers of the New Orleans Province of the Society of Jesus, Ignatius House Jesuit Retreat Center was created to provide retreat and spiritual renewal for those seeking to discover and live out God’s will in their lives.
We’re All About the Mission
We believe God loves us and desires a relationship with each and every person. Ignatius House Jesuit Retreat Center provides a sacred place of peace and quiet, and offers the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola to facilitate an encounter with God.
…And Built on The Love of God!
Established in December 1960 by the Jesuit Fathers and Brothers of the New Orleans Province of the Society of Jesus, the property that Ignatius House Retreat Center sits on was a generous gift from Suzanne Spalding Schroder and her son John, a Jesuit Priest. Their hope, along with the Province, was to create the perfect place for retreat, reflection and spiritual renewal for those seeking to discover and live out God’s will in their lives. Since 1 January 2013 the ministry at Ignatius House is sponsored by the Maryland Province of the Society of Jesus.
Because of the Schroder family’s love of God, and their generous donation, for more than half a century Ignatius House Retreat Center has offered Silent Weekend Retreats, Days of Reflection, and spiritual direction to individuals and groups of all faiths.
