30-Day Retreat: The Spiritual Exercises
July 11 @ 6:00 pm$2800
We are no longer accepting applications for the July 11 -August 12, 2022 retreat. Thank you for your understanding.
The full Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola will be offered as a 30-day retreat at Ignatius House from Monday, July 11, to Friday, August 12.
The Spiritual Exercises are a collection of meditations, prayers and contemplative practices to help people deepen their intimate relationship with God. Retreat into silence for 30 days to contemplate God’s love and the reality of sin, its effects and God’s response to it. This special time away will allow you to consider the mystery of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection and will help you grow in love for Jesus and into closer discipleship to him. The Exercises are a proven school of prayer and discernment and can help anyone faced with a significant life decision to consider and to choose what God hopes for them.
The entire retreat is conducted in silence and solitude and is well-suited to a person who:
· Has made one or more individually directed, silent, Ignatian retreats (five to eight days);
· Has a habit of daily contemplative prayer; and
· Has recently experienced ongoing spiritual direction, which demonstrates their ability to articulate their experience of prayer and the trust to share it with another.
During the Exercises as a 30-day retreat, one typically prays four or five times a day, meets a spiritual director once each day, and generally remains in silence during all other times.
The Spiritual Exercises begin on Monday, July 11, 2022, at 6 pm and conclude on Friday, August 12 at noon.
The cost for this retreat is $2,800, which includes a comfortable private room and bath, delicious, healthy meals and access to our 20-acre forested campus and private walking trails. No payment may be made until you have completed and submitted your application form and supporting materials, and until that application has been approved and an interview has taken place.
