Reflective Journaling and Artistic Exploration

December 15 @ 6:00 pm - December 17 @ 12:00 pm

$370

Directed by Alison Umminger Mattison and Jackie Sullivan

An Advent Journey into God’s Story and Your Own

Deepen your journey into this Advent season through a combination of Ignatian meditation, visio divina, reflective journaling and SoulCollage®. We will reflect on how the season of Advent draws us deeply in God’s incarnational dream for the world – and also listen for God’s voice in our individual lives.  Advent is the perfect time to escape the noise of daily life AND try new ways of prayer and meditation.  No artistic skill necessary, just an open heart.  While SoulCollage® materials are included, you can bring your own journal.

This is a silent retreat. Guests are expected to maintain a sacred silence throughout the retreat,  including at meals, unless otherwise noted. There will be periods of discussion and dialogue when prompted by the retreat director.

Alison Umminger Mattison is a Professor of Creative Writing, spiritual director, mom, and life coach, who loves working with groups and individuals to creatively excavate our individual and collective journeys.  She has led retreats at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit and facilitates a local spirituality book group.

Jackie Sullivan is an Ignatian trained Spiritual Director, Professor of Human Relations, small group and retreat leader, leader of Holy Land pilgrimages, wife and mom. Through contemplative and imaginative prayer, she hopes to lead all to a more personal experience of faith.
