Art Retreat: Foresting Our Faith

August 9 @ 6:00 pm - August 11 @ 12:00 pm

Directed by Patti Hunter, MACM

Join us this weekend for a journey through the trees. As we traverse the forest of our faith and spirituality, we’ll closely listen to what trees can teach us about the nature and presence of God. While hiking through this scriptural forest, we’ll use wood and various art mediums to express what trees reveal to us—their meaning and voices. Together, we’ll spend time gazing, creating, and studying our personal tree of life. Come marvel with us as we tune into the voices of trees. So, grab your walking stick, curiosity, and wonder, and let’s explore this forest of wisdom together. I’ll meet you on the trail. No prior art experience is required.

Earth is crammed with heaven. And every common bush afire with God: but only he who sees, takes off his shoes.” Elizabeth Barrett Browning

This is a silent retreat. Guests are expected to maintain a sacred silence throughout the retreat,  including at meals, unless otherwise noted. There will be periods of discussion and dialogue when prompted by the retreat director.
