Originally written in 2012, ‘Beyond Religion’ remains profoundly relevant today. Daily news confronts us with wars, gun violence, climate change, refugee crises, and homelessness. As people of faith, and given that most of the world shares this commonality, what more can we do to bring compassion, love, and peace to the world?
His Holiness proposes a new vision of ethics that grounds our inner values without conflicting with any religion. This approach, universally acceptable to those with faith and those without, transcends the religion wars. He outlines a system of ethics for our shared world, making a stirring appeal for a deep appreciation of our common humanity and offering a roadmap for improving human life on individual, community, and global levels.
Join us this winter as we reflect on these important values and the path to becoming more compassionate, kind, and forgiving in our own behavior.
