Discernment is not just a decision-making process but also a transformative experience that occurs in our daily lives. It involves assessing ourselves, deepening our self-awareness, and understanding others. Discernment combines reason and spirituality and encompasses all aspects of our being.
Our choices define who we are and what we think. Even the smallest choices reflect how we continuously create ourselves as individuals. The often-default choice of not choosing permits external circumstances to dictate our lives. Therefore, making sound choices is the first step toward personal growth.
Saint Ignatius emphasized the complexity of our created being by recognizing how our motives attract or repulse us towards or away from a particular option. Discernment is more about understanding ourselves than choosing a specific path. When we know who we are, our actions align with our being. Embark on a journey to discover your true self, as envisioned by the Divine, and harness your power of choice to mirror that image.
To aid you in your journey of exploration and self-discovery of body, mind, and spirit, please bring any tools that assist you in reflection, such as your journal and any yoga props you require.

Kimberly (Kimi) Nettuno, MTS, RYT, journeys with others in the practices of yoga, meditation, discernment, and spiritual direction. She combines yoga methodology with Christian prayer and Ignatian discernment to expand the practitioner’s relationship with God by deepening their connection with themselves. With over 1000 hours of yoga teacher training, a certification in Ignatian Spiritual Direction, and a master’s degree in Theological Studies, Kimi invites others to journey within where God’s presence resides. She strives to share with every practitioner this truth that she has come to embrace: You are beautifully made. No life experience or circumstance is wasted. You are the living knowledge of God, for He created you for a purpose and out of His desire to be in loving relationship with you. When she is not admiring the awe of God’s work in another, she loves to encounter His loving, creative presence surrounded by her family as they work and play on their farm.
