A Taste of Mindfulness – An Introduction to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
This online 2.5 hour workshop will introduce you to the practice of mindfulness meditation which uses evidence-based mind-body practices, informed by ancient wisdom traditions and supported by modern scientific research, to decrease distraction and stress, and help increase optimal functioning. The workshop will combine brief presentations, discussions, and short mindfulness practices.
Note: All participants will have the option to participate or to refrain from certain exercises according to their own comfort and safety levels.
Mark Dannenfelser is Founding Director of the Mindfulness Center of Atlanta. He is a Certified MBSR Teacher (Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School), a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-GA), a Certified Spiritual Director (Spring Hill College), and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200). Mark is Adjunct Lecturer in the Graduate Theology program at Spring Hill College and is the Contemplative Outreach commissioned presenter of the Centering Prayer method for the Aquinas Center of Theology at Emory University.
