Lisa Persons graduated from Candler School of Theology with a Master of Divinity in 1996 and then worked as a hospice chaplain and with the mentally ill in downtown Atlanta. An associate of Green Bough House of Prayer since 1996, she delights in companioning others as they seek to deepen their experience of the Holy in daily life.
Lisa’s background includes earning a spiritual direction certificate from Moravian Seminary. She studies Focusing, a way of embodied listening to the inner life, and leads people through the Ignatian Exercises, when she gets the chance. As a spiritual director she meets with both men and women, young and old, and has a special interest in twelve-step spirituality.
Lisa lives in the Oakhurst neighborhood of Decatur with her husband, Bob, her dog, Emma and two young adults, Robert and Sophie, when they are home from college. She meets with people at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Ignatius House, or virtually.
